Barbecue masterclass at the Orange Elephant:
    High steaks

Learn how to serve the perfect sirloin, just in time for summer

Thinking of investing in a Big Green Egg barbecue to make this summer’s cookouts really special? Try before you buy at Chelsea’s steak-focused concept restaurant Orange Elephant – named after the breed of South Devonshire cow its meat comes from. In an informal masterclass, head chef Jai Parkinson will show you how to cook the perfect sirloin or 55-day-aged tomahawk, talk you through the various cuts of beef and the best cooking methods for each, and explain why Orange Elephant steaks are so succulent. Students will also learn a little about knife skills, meat preparation, the best charcoal to use and how to season to perfection. You’ll then cook and eat your steak, expertly paired with red and white wine by the restaurant’s sommelier.

Sirloin masterclass with wine, £55; tomahawk masterclass with wine, £120.; 020 7352 7999
