Bennett Winch, the British – well, technically English – luggage brand, has just opened a flagship store in central London. The 600 sq ft space has been designed in a way that mirrors how Bennett Winch develops its product: concentrating on function and material integrity. For example, craftsmen have produced seating covered in the same high-quality Italian leather as the brand’s bags. There is also a conscious homage to this historical location, with the feature of a workbench inspired by antique drapers’ tables and a 1920s tailor’s mirror.
Bennett Winch’s full collection of more than 60 designs is all available to buy here, and the team proudly claims it makes a bag for every occasion, whether that is for a daily carry, weekend away or travel carry-on. These come in a range of natural colours and are made from the finest raw materials, from Tuscan leather to British brass hardware. There are also various accessories exclusive to the flagship store such as desk mats and leather folios, perfect for a business lifestyle.
Each luggage item is made using traditional skills and materials, while being tailored to suit the adventures of the contemporary world. Products are conceived to encourage customers to own fewer, better things. Bennett Winch is not motivated by seasonal and disposable fashion trends; instead it aspires to produce bags that have soul and purpose with a quality that is timeless, and do not need to be replaced any time soon.
