If lockdown has turned you into a home mixologist, you’ll know that a drinks cupboard full of fine spirits is a source of joy. With National Tequila Day approaching on Friday 24 July, it’s time to invest in a good tequila. Maestro Dobel is the tequila producer leading the way in crafting exquisite and unique expressions. The first, Maestro Dobel Diamante, is Mexico’s best-selling ultra-premium tequila and the world’s first multi-aged Cristalino. Cristalino tequilas are some of the finest aged expressions and are filtered to remove all colouration left by the barrel. What makes Diamante unique is the blend of reposado (aged up to a year), añejo (aged at least a year and extra-añejo (aged more than three years) tequilas that have been carefully combined to create a complex and incredibly smooth-drinking spirit. The tequila has notes of vanilla, pepper, oak and citrus and is perfect for cocktails or drinking neat. If any further recommendation is needed, it’s also the favourite tequila of Michelin-starred chef, Rafael Cagali of Da Terra.

The second is the world’s first smoked silver tequila, Maestro Dobel Humito. Mesquite wood is used during cooking the agave, giving Humito a deliciously rich smoky flavour. Maestro Dobel Humito is equally delicious in cocktails or drunk neat.
