For its latest collection, Oliver Peoples has joined forces with Khaite – the womenswear brand co-founded by Catherine Holstein and famed for its sophisticated take on American sportwear staples. With a nod to Oliver Peoples’ design heritage and with an aesthetic that draws upon the rebellious spirit of NYC, the collection features retro-inspired acetate frames refreshed by Khaite’s modern take on sensuality. The collaboration involves three distinctive models, all handcrafted in Italy and sharing unique features such as the double embedded core wire inspired by the finishes on Khaite’s accessories. Feminine and masculine design codes combine in the buff 1983C model, while dramatic geometric lines pay tribute to the creative soul of the American brand in a translucent red pair, 1971C. Lastly, in an ode to retromania, the white 1969C is a refreshingly glamourous revisit of the iconic Mod sunglasses style. ‘We are thrilled to collaborate with Khaite,’ says Oliver Peoples CEO, Rocco Basilico. ‘The designs and vision of Catherine Holstein exemplify the best in modern, elevated classics. Both brands found a commonality in honouring a style that will always be relevant.’
Debuting on the autumn/winter 2023 runway in NYC at 6pm on 12 February, the limited-edition KHAITE x Oliver Peoples collection will be available through khaite.com and oliverpeoples.com from 13 February
