I was lucky enough to stay in a Superior Pool Suite, which has its own large terrace and a private infinity pool with spectacular views of the marina. The room itself has excellent amenities, including a rain shower, whirlpool bath, king-size bed, Smart TV, sound system, mini fridge and coffee machine. Its interior is sleek and contemporary with wooden floors complementing the neutral, warm tones of the walls and furniture, while a carefully curated selection of minimalist artworks completes the room. The owners have described the Ibiza Gran Hotel as an ‘art hotel’, and the reason for that is clear upon arrival, as artworks and installations by the likes of Fernando Botero and Antoni Llena are found throughout the building. Staying at the Ibiza Gran is not just a luxurious and restful experience, it is also a cultural and creative one.

The hotel’s impressive facilities extend beyond its rooms. The Open Spa is a sanctuary for body and mind, with an emphasis on rituals, aqua treatments, fitness and beauty. It is a must-visit, and I would recommend the professional facial and body treatments that use high-quality products. The spa’s team of specialist therapists help alleviate physical tension and enhance relaxation. Massages are personalised to your individual needs, with therapists allowing you to choose from a wide range of essential oils – ensuring that you leave feeling revitalised.

The Ibiza Gran Hotel is the first hotel with a MICHELIN Starred restaurant in it in Ibiza: namely, La Gaia. Its cuisine makes creative use of local ingredients, curated by head chef Óscar Molina, who’s considered to be one of the best chefs in Spain. Ensure that you indulge yourself here with a tasting menu and wine pairing. Both tasting menus – Tanit and Posidonia – are experiences, full of artistic expression with a focus on quality, sustainability and tradition.

The buffet-style Grand Breakfast is a treat with which to start the day. It comes with everything you could imagine, including fresh fruit, salads, meats, pastries, juices, crepes and omelettes made to order. Fancy oysters and champagne? You can get that too.

Perfectly located in the heart of the White Island, the hotel is just opposite the Marina Ibiza, an ideal location to access all aspects of island life. If you want to explore local bars, boutiques or restaurants, it’s only a 20-minute walk to the centre of the old town or 10 minutes by car. Or if you’re looking to simply lounge on the beach or swim in the sea, Playa de Talamanca is roughly a 10-minute walk. Ibiza Gran Hotel is also very easy to get to, as the airport is only a 15-minute drive away, while for those arriving by boat, Marina Ibiza is a short walk down the promenade.

Famous nightspots such as Pacha, Lío and Club Chinois are all within walking distance of the hotel. The perfect end to a luxury night in Ibiza can also be found in the hotel itself at the Casino de Ibiza, which is integrated in the complex.
