Vacheron Constantin's Overseas in 18ct Pink Gold Ref. 500V/110R-B952

Vacheron Constantin’s Overseas collection was first launched in 1996, sharing the bloodline of the earlier trailblazing 222 timepiece, to represent the technical and sporty expertise of fine watchmaking. The Overseas embodies the spirit of travel, as the name evokes, with a design focus on elegant, clean lines and pure styling. Reimagined six years ago with even slicker design geometry, these watches have been liberated from excess in exchange for comfort, ergonomics and easy functionality.

Now the historic house has launched its newest version in 18ct pink gold, complementing the translucent blue lacquered dial, which has a sunburst satin finish and luminescent gold hour markers and hands. Featured on the dial are indications for minutes and hours, small seconds at 9 o’clock, date and column-wheel chronograph with 30-minute and 12-hour counters. The case has a diameter of 42.5mm, is 13.7mm thick and displays the regular hexagonal bezel, based around the watchmaker’s signature Maltese cross, with a fluted crown, and polished and satin finishes. The sapphire crystal topped caseback reveals a 22ct gold oscillating weight engraved with a compass rose, a symbol of travel and exploration, all powered by a self-winding mechanical calibre.

Each Overseas comes with additional bracelets and straps in metal, leather and rubber which – thanks to an ingenious patented device – can be changed in seconds. This reference 5500V/110R-B952 has a bracelet of 18ct pink gold featuring half Maltese cross-shaped polished and satin-brushed links, secured by an 18ct pink gold triple blade folding clasp with push-pieces and comfort-adjustment system. Completing the trio of straps are also a blue calfskin leather with light grey stitching and one in blue rubber. So wherever you travel, you’ll always be wearing elegant and versatile wristwear, whether at home or overseas.
